C1 Racing Club - 24hr Silverstone

EMAX Wins the Euro Class at the Silverstone 24hr

This is the big one!

Prep for Silverstone had started three months prior with car preparation and rebuilding after Portimao 2025.

EMAX had 2 Danish cars (Auto Una) , 3 Uk spec cars and 1 City car at Silverstone for the highlight of the 2026 UK calendar. With all the cars prepared and ready and all drivers looking forward to the round the clock race we settled into testing on Friday with quali later on in the evening.

EMAX had high hopes to achieve strong finishes in all groups with their eyes on some silverware for this big race.

Quali went well with car 88 hitting the front and P1 in class and first Citroen overall. Car 14 also was P1 in class and the remaining cars all completing their mandatory 3 laps with respectable qualifying positions.

Sat was an opportunity to reprep the cars and plenty of pit stop practice.

The race started at 6 pm and immediately car 343 had difficulty as a small gentle off put the car on its side after 4 laps. When released from the scrutineers the team got to work getting it back on track for the new driver, unfortunately another trip to the gravel saw it drop further behind which was disappointing as 343 had great pace to potentially battle for a top position.

Car 158 (European class) had new drivers and Silverstone novices so the plan was to keep out of trouble and maintain a steady pace. This paid off with no unscheduled pit stops and a trip to P3 on the podium in class.

The Tiger car was running high in the order until a trip to the gravel and a subsequent clutch failure meant a new one had to be fitted. 7 hrs later a further clutch failure and another gearbox out and replacement fitted meant a mid pack finish.

345 had 2 new EMAX drivers, one (Jon) his first race and also Jonny having a lot of 24 hr racing experience in other cars but never actually finishing a race (That was to change this weekend!) 343 came home top UK EMAX car with zero damage and zero issues of credit to its drivers.

The city car cup (14) was lapping in the top couple of cars until an electrical issue forced an unplanned stop. This was to plague the car and after another unplanned stop we dropped down the leader board. With everything now going to plan the drivers battled their way back and managed a class win and a respectable mid field result.

Car 88 was unstoppable mixing with the more powerful BMWs and holding P2 overall for quite some time. The car ran faultlessly and was driven superb . WIth fastest C1 overall by over 2 seconds and a commanding lead car 88 finished P4 overall and P1 in class by a huge margin.

A great weekend racing and wonderful event.

The results were as follows for the team:
88 - 1st in class (European) - 4th overall

158 - 3rd in class (European) - 30th overall

343 - 16th in class (UK AM) - 36th overall

345 - 9th in class (UK AM) - 25th overall

14 - 1st in class (CCC) - 33rd overall

430 - 21st in class (UK AM) - 42nd overall
