EMAX races to P1 in class at the 7hrs at Zolder

EMAX took their Portuguese spec C1 race car to Belgium and the iconic Zolder race circuit for regular drivers Ted and Simon.

Ted and Simon will be racing in all of the Belgium series this year utilising the freshly rebuilt car and hoping to score some good points in the championship.

Testing was interesting on Thursday with a huge variety of machinery racing from our trusty C1 right up to an ex Benetton F1 car / GT1 Le mans race cars and a huge array of GT3 and classic race cars.The closing speed was huge!

Qualification came and went and Sunday saw car 470 towards the rear of the grid. We were fourth in class but with 7 hrs of racing we were hoping to improve to try to achieve a podium first time out.

Simon started the race and was improving handing over to Ted after about 90 mins. We were struggling with communication and will fit a radio system for future races. At the midway point we were up to third in class but lapping about 7-8 seconds behind the Belgium cars (Performance upgrades required for Anneau du Rhin!).

The organisers changed our car to run in a different class mid race which meant we were now 1st in class (Third in the original class).

With 7 hrs passing in what seemed like a blink in the eye Ted brought 470 home blemish free and achieved his fastest lap in the final stint.

P1 in class (P3 previous class) The team were elated with the first outing of the year.

The next round in Magny Core (France) EMAX will be running six cars at Silverstone on the same weekend so Ted and Simon will race with our friends in car 470 with their support.
